New section of the Concord-Lake Sunapee Rail Trail open

Implementation of the vision for the Concord – Lake Sunapee Rail Trail (CLSRT) took a small step forward this week. Stone dust surfacing, a trailhead parking area, and other improvements were completed for a half-mile segment starting at Fisherville Rd. in northwest Concord.

When fully complete, the CLSRT will extend over 20 miles generally west to the southern end of Lake Sunapee at Newbury, providing an active transportation connection between the state capital and one of New Hampshire’s popular tourist destinations. The half-mile segment was itself just a part of a 2.5-mile project that will extend to Carter Hill Rd.

Check out the CLSRT Facebook page for more details and to find a link for donating money to finish the project.
